"It has been truly amazing to play before people who like what we do,” comments Derek Kiesgen. “To go to England and do it, to get to sit with King Charles, is something pure beyond diamonds."
Bear Vs Shark’s initial run didn’t last longer than your average presidential term, with the band cramming in two incredible albums, 2003’s Right Now, You’re In The Best Of Hands… and 2005’s Terrorhawk, as well as hundreds of live dates into a scant four years of existence. However, since their 2005 dissolution, their legend only grew, with their songs — a potent mixture of garage-rock swagger, math-rock complexity and post-hardcore intensity — racking up millions of plays across streaming services and stories of their explosive live show spreading across message board comment sections and grainy YouTube footage.
Finally, the band succumbed to the increasingly loud demands of their increasingly large fanbase and reunited for a series of shows in 2016 with a lineup that included original members Paffi, Gaviglio, Kiesgen and Moss, as well as Terrorhawk-era drummer Ashley Horak and Nick Jones, bassist of Paffi and Moss’ post-BvS project Bars Of Gold. That expanded lineup has brought BvS’ back catalog back to life, putting on blistering performances from coast to coast in America to rave reviews and sold-out shows.
Bear Vs Shark looks forward to performing career-spanning sets in Manchester, Leeds, London and Bristol, for an audience desperate to believe in the cathartic power of music again.
